A new city partnership is providing more extensive services to Maple Valley residents.

Nexus Youth and Families, a nonprofit organization based out of Auburn, has opened its doors to young people – birth to 24 – to provide a variety of mental health and substance use counseling services.

Nexus Youth and Families operates an office in Enumclaw and Auburn, has therapists working with youth in Tahoma School District, and frequently partners with the work of Vine Maple Place. They also provide a multitude of other programs to many other cities throughout South King and North Pierce counties.

"This is a huge expansion of the amazing work we are already doing here in Maple Valley" said Behavioral Health Director Teri Hardy of Nexus.

Services in mental health and substance use disorder include:

• Individual and Family Counseling

• Trauma focused therapy

• Anger management and social skills

• Outpatient treatment

• Relapse prevention

• School and court ordered services
