A Mount Morris graphic design company has received certification as a New York State Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business

Livingston County News - 5/24/2017

A Mount Morris graphic design company has received certification as a New York State Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business from the state Office of General Services.

Pagano Associates, 98 Main St., Mount Morris, prints materials such as business cards, posters and forms, custom apparel and promotional products.

The company is owned by Geoffrey Pagano, a lifelong resident of Mount Morris.

Pagano, a 1995 graduate of Mount Morris Central School, served in the United States Marines from 1995 to 1998. He is a member of the Mount Morris Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.

Pagano has worked in telecommunications with Frontier, later a smaller Victor company and as a consultant, a job that put him in other cities for about six weeks a year. He opened Pagano Associates in 2007.

The certification from OGS' Division of Service-Disabled Veterans' Business Development seeks to encourage and support such businesses in increasing their participate in state contracting opportunities.

To be eligible for certification, a business must be independently owned and operated and one or more service-disabled veterans, with a service-connected disability rating of 10 percent or more, must own at least 51 percent of the business, among other criteria.

The Division was created by Gov. Andrew Cuomo in May 2014 with the enactment of the Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Act. As of May 22, 2017, a total of 329 businesses have been certified.
